Thanks for this video: at 6 minutes he explains how he made a 2.3 MeV bevatron in his home garage because his Japanese immigrant parents were poor, having been interned in a concentration camp in America during WWII (when America was at war with Japan).
ReplyDeleteThis impresses me a lot. He certainly has some hands on experience of not merely experiments done with taxpayer-funded equipment, but of actually making his own particle accelerator in the garage as a kid.
Of course he is wrong to have himself filmed sleeping, shaving, etc., etc., and talking about this stuff in the context of trying to make string theory appear credible. But you have to give the guy credit for making the effort to try to accomplish something worthwhile with his life. It's not entirely his own fault that by following mainstream fashion, he has become a sci fi clergyman.
